Jewellery Care Guide
A large majority of our jewellery is made from stainless steel so is very durable. Stainless steel has many benefits, it is a very hard metal, it is waterproof, tarnish resistant and hypoallergenic.
However, your jewellery will last longer if you treat it with care. For any pieces that have semi precious stones, please remove them prior to showering, swimming, bathing or exercising, this also applies to the cord bracelets.
All stainless steel based jewellery can be worn in water and is 'waterproof', for the silver tone it will not tarnish or fade in any way. The gold finish stainless steel is plated using either ION or PVD coating process with 18 or 24k real gold, this is much more durable than flash plated jewellery. However, this does not mean that it won't fade at all ,it just means it will take much longer. the best advise is to limit contact with water, liquids and chemicals.
Also avoid spraying perfume or applying lotions directly onto your jewellery. Store them in your Vida pouch when not in use. Keep your jewellery away from extreme temperatures and humidity.
The most common causes of tarnishing are oxidation, exposure to sulphur, differing body chemistries and exposure to perfume, hairspray and cleaning agents. Taking care of your jewellery and proper storage are the best ways to avoid tarnishing.
